Gold exploration in the Gunung Ledang area was carried out in the three phase. Phase 1 (January 1985 to July 1986) entailed detailed stream sediment geochemical sampling. Based on the results of this phase, four sectors anomalous in gold were delineated.
Between Sept 86 and august 87 phase 2, involving soil and geophysical surveys, was undertaken over anomaly 1, the most promising of these four sector. The results of this phase led to phase 3 of the exploration programme which was excuted between august and nov 87.
this final phase was a pitting and trenching programme undetaken to certain the significance and nature of the geochemical and geophysical anomalies identified in anomaly1.
